Interview:
Father Venance Jaozandry is one of the more important catholic officials in Antsiranana ( Diégo-Suarez). He is the general vicar of the town; he has been also president of the FFKM (the malagasy Christian churches federation) in this area between years 1995 and 2000; besides, he is president of the Caritas, a catholic humanitarian N.G.O. and member of the D.R.V., an association involved in the gender development actions. Father Venance Jaozandry explains the reasons that make most women becoming the chief of the family in this area, instead of the men. He also tells the work he made to avoid slaughter in Diégo during the crisis, whereas the RFI, the most equipped and trained Ratsiraka's regiment was there. These talks has been recorded in Paris on March 21st 2003, on his way to Roma.
