1/ Claudia talked with some malagasy hand-craft merchants during the
trade fair in Montargis, 17th to 21st July 2003. Most of them are glad to
participate at such an event, even though the earnings are not
significant.

2/ The former malagasy President, Didier Ratsiraka has just be sentenced
in absentia by the malagasy criminal court to 10 years in a labour camp
for embezzling.

Constance Andrianary is an architect. She is member of the Association of
the victims of the extortions made by the militia of  Ratsiraka during
the last malagasy political crisis. She tells the difficulties they had
to front in their struggle to extradite Ratsiraka from France to
Madagascar.
